Where to start when choosing safari activities?

Think about the safari activities you have on your bucket list, combine that with what you normally like to do most when you travel, and give us an idea of where you like to sleep after an amazing day, and we’ll build them into your itinerary. Whether it’s backcountry adventure, back-to-back game drive days, or a mix of sun, sand, and safari, our goal is to create a custom blend itinerary that is uniquely yours.

Below you’ll find our most popular things to do on safari and on adventures beyond East Africa. It’s certainly not a comprehensive list, so let us know if there are safari activities or other excursions, you’d like us to investigate.

Conservation Safari

Conservation takes many forms. You could roll up your sleeves to build a much-needed lion boma in a Tanzanian village for a translocation project. You could explore a conservation reserve in Tarangire Maasai Steppe and take the time to learn about the immense work of protecting such a vast area.

At Northland Safaris, we are dedicated to travel focused on conservation. We believe it’s our responsibility to respect the land, people, and wildlife of the places we visit, and are committed to doing so with every trip we craft. We work closely with our partners on the ground to ensure that these trips contribute positively and don’t just pay lip service.

Contribute to Conservation Efforts

Conservation education is a crucial step towards inspiring and empowering (young) people to protect wildlife from extinction. It is also fundamental to the achievement of the goal of sustainable development. There is a great need for high-quality educational materials and activities that will change behaviors in the direction of environmental protection.

We’re able to arrange for you to participate in conservation projects during your safari – whether it be helping plant a tree in some of these schools or cleaning by collecting the plastic bags that are spread over the street or around the schools or maybe you’re interested in helping to provide teaching materials like projectors, laptops, banners, a small generator which can help to reach more schools in the rural areas where there is no electricity; we’re able to suggest ways to incorporate some conservation activities during your safari.
