Steffi FAugust 5, 2025Verified Best Safari Experience! We had the most amazing time with Northland Safaris! George was an amazing guide. He thought of every little detail from having blankets for the cold weather and such elaborate picnic setups, to knowing and predicting where the animals would pass by in order for us to be able to get the absolute best shots. I've been on 3 safaris already but this has been the best and most detailed and well-planned out one by far. George even sat us down to give us a concise but easily understandable and elaborate talk about the principles behind the great migration. We had amazing picnics, game drives, accommodations, and even the local lunch arranged for us was so delicious. 10/10 I would absolutely go back and do another Safari with them, no complaints at all! jessicawalshJune 11, 2025Verified Absolutely phenomenal dream come true trip!!! I literally cannot say enough or thank George Munge (owner) and his tour guide that accompanied us, Mungah! I am still dreaming of being there! George catered to our style, schedule and showed us so many amazing sights, too many to even imagine! All the big five, multiple times, and so many other amazing animals. Many times, we were alone in our Land Cruiser with them and no one else was around. It’s simply magical! We had the literal “dream team” and I just cannot recommend them enough!!! We miss them! We miss Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Taningere so much now that we are back in the US! We stayed with them an extra night bc we just couldn’t leave!!! Thank you!!!! 😊 Birgitte1955January 25, 2025Verified The Best Safari Company Fantastic friendly helpful and welcoming company. Takes into account individual wishes and needs.Professionally well-founded , great knowledge of the culture , nature , animals and the population of Tanzania .Top recommendations for Northland Safari and George Munge PaulSeptember 29, 2024Verified Incredible Safari Experience provided by Norland Safaris Our guide, George Munge (owner) and driver, Amani, provided our family of 6 with an exceptional experience on Safari in Tanzania, with an extension for beach relaxation on Zanzibar at the end.Prior to our travel, George extensively consulted with us via WhatsApp, with descriptive outlines and spreadsheets, in preparation for our first trip to Africa, tailored the trip to our wishes and budget and followed through every step of the way to make our travel very smooth in a continent and country in which we had no prior experience. The safari was exceptional, with lions, baboons and elephants only steps away from our vehicle, but felt completely safe with George's expert guidance. George is expert and pointing out animals an birds at great distance, as well, enhancing our experience. Yes, we did see the "Big Five" animals. He is a passionate person, with great respect for the animals, environment and indigenous peoples of the region (Maasai). The food was excellent and accommodations chosen were top notch.Going on safari is a busy, fast paced incredible experience. There is little "down-time" other than meals or a couple hours between game drives, but it can be tailored to needs. Having the extension to Zanzibar was a great way to relax and savor the experience. Also, expect a bumpy and dusty ride in the special Toyota Safari Land Cruisers, despite robust suspension and cushioned seats. Overall for the six of us, with various levels of travel (and limited "adventure" experience) had a superlative time experiencing one of the remaining unique domains of the world where the large animals roam free and the people are enclosed in the safety of their transports. Janis KSeptember 24, 2024Verified Best Tanzanian Safari ! My husband, brother, sister in law, niece and her husband all went on a beautiful Safari with George and Amani. It was an amazing and wonderful experience seeing so many animals while also learning about the different cultures of Tanzania. George was excellent at spotting animals and explaining about their habitats while Amani gave his expertise as well as being a very safe and skillful driver. George expertly organized in advance all the lodging and activities for our 10 day Safari. This was an experience that we will all remember for a lifetime! FamilyWanderlustSeptember 8, 2024Verified Incredible experience with Northtland Tanzania safaris We had an incredible nine day safari to Tangi, Gaurang and Sangi national parks with Northland Tanzania Safari’s. We have traveled extensively around the world and this was by far one of the most memorable vacations we’ve had. George helped us plan the itinerary based on my preferences. He was transparent about the cost and was a tune to, what we were hoping to accomplish. Once we landed in Kilimanjaro airport, Nixon was our guide and driver. We cannot say enough good things about Nixon. He is friendly, personable, made an effort to get to know us and our preferences. Above all his keen ability to sight animals and explain their behaviors in an engaging manner made this trip very rewarding. On multiple occasions, when other guides had left the area, Nixon was able to spot wildlife by observing the habitat and the behavior of the animals. This was especially important by the Mara river where over two days Nixon was able to show us four Wilder beast crossings. Two of these were after everybody had left, but Nixon asked us to be patient for just a while longer and we were amply rewarded!! We saw the endangered black rhino 2x, thanks to Nixon. Importantly, Nixon is a conservationist and was able to show us an incredible time while respecting the animals and their space. We saw other guides stress out the animals and this was very disheartening. We highly recommend Nixon as a guide and Northland Tanzania safaris. Loghomelady6August 21, 2024Verified August 2024 Tanzania Spent a week on safari with George in Tanzania, specifically Nyerere (Selous), and Ruaha national park. We had an amazing time. George is a lot of fun, and great at taking candid photos and immediately sending them. We have a thousand pictures of African animals, as expected, but thanks to George, we also have many of ourselves and our friends as we enjoyed a once in a lifetime experience. It was our first time to East Africa and we enjoyed learning about the incredible Massai people.Hope to get back there some day! Roam528551July 24, 2024Verified Lovely people We just had a wonderful safari with Northland Tanzania Safaris. We met George to ask him if he could arrange for a “last minute safari”. George was very helpful with choosing the places to go. and our guide was perfect. We recommand this company, they will do their best to meet your needs and please you. Gazelle SJune 15, 2024Verified Amazing Safari Experience I just completed an amazing Safari with Northland Tanzania Safaris. George our guide and founder was extremely kind and caring. He had all the information on his finger tips including birds, mammals, reptiles and culture. He always got out of his comfort zone to give us a wonderful experience like driving for hours following the wilderbeest migration. Overall one of the best guides/ operators in Tanzania dorothydpakJune 3, 2024Verified Trip of a lifetime! I am still only on my flight back home, but feel compelled to get my review of Northland Tanzania Safaris on record before I forget any of this absolutely unbelievable week. Northland and its owner, George Munge, were recommended to us by our travel agent, who had met George several years ago. However, I didn't know anyone personally who had travelled with them before, so it was a bit of a leap of faith. George worked with us patiently as we zeroed in on our itinerary, and clearly heard my request for an authentic (albeit luxury) safari experience. Whenever I tried to wander off into other properties that were recommended to me by others, he would ask me to trust him that he would deliver the trip we wanted. And he did that - and so much more. We were travelling as a family of 6 - my husband and I, our 3 college/grad school-age children, and my 78 year old mother. From the moment George and Jacob met us at the airport, he had every minute of our trip covered. He had recommended adding Jacob as a driver at the last minute because, with this being the end of the rainy season, grasses were still high and it would allow him to guide and spot while Jacob drove. That was well worth the extra expense. Each property they recommended (Lemala Mpingo Ridge, Karibu Lions Paw Ngorongoro and Lemala Nanyukie) was amazing - outstanding settings, outstanding accommodations, but most importantly outstanding service. George and Jacob were both eagle-eyes - I'm not sure we once spotted something before they did. We saw absolutely everything we wanted to on safari. Even more importantly, though, we were educated in a way I had never anticipated. George clearly loves nature and Tanzania, and he shared his passion with us every step of the way. From his stories growing up in a Maasai village to a bush breakfast lecture on the Great Migration (complete with maps) - we learned so much. He had every minute planned, so we never had to do that hard work. But he was also flexible when we asked to just take some time off to enjoy the beautiful properties he had booked for us. He made sure my mom was well taken care of each place we stopped, with the closest tent possible and other special accommodations. But it was the unexpected special touches that really made the trip an unforgettable experience. From a hot lunch down in the Ngorongoro Crater to the most beautiful sundowner in the Serengeti, and all the game drives in between (including two cheetahs chasing down a wildebeest). George and Jacob were the most gracious and fantastic hosts we could ever ask for. Oh, and I didn't even mention his restaurant, The Peaks Lounge, where our trip culminated with the most delicious African lunch I could ever imagine, right before heading to the airport. I highly recommend Northland Tanzania Safaris for an African safari trip of a lifetime. Thank you George and Jacob!
